What this site knows about you, which is almost nothing.

This site does not set a single cookie. Not an analytics one, not a tracking one, not even a “strictly necessary” one.
That is why there is no cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to, and asking you to click a button about nothing would have been theatre.
If that ever changes, the banner comes back before the cookie does, not after.
The fonts, the styles and the scripts all live on this domain.
Until recently the fonts came from Google, which meant your IP address reached a Google server on every visit without anyone asking you. That has been fixed: on an ordinary visit this site contacts nobody.
Some pages remember small things so they still work when you come back, for instance where you had got to in an exercise.
That is kept in your browser’s own storage, on your device. It never reaches me and I have no way of reading it.
Clearing your browser data for this site erases all of it, permanently.
I do not run Google Analytics or any equivalent. I do not know how many of you there are, which pages you read, or where you came from.
My host may keep ordinary server logs, which is how any web server works, and I do not use them to build a picture of anybody.
When you fill in a form, I receive what you typed: your name, your email, and whatever you wrote.
Nothing is collected quietly in the background. If you have never written to me, I hold nothing about you at all.
Form messages reach me by email through Web3Forms, which passes them on rather than keeping them.
Payments and memberships go through Patreon and its payment processors. Your card details are entered on their pages, never here, and I never see them.
Each of those has its own privacy policy, and following a link to them takes you onto their terms rather than mine.
I use what you send me to reply to you, to arrange and deliver the work you asked for, and to keep a record of our exchange.
I do not sell it, I do not hand it to advertisers, and I do not add you to any list you did not ask to be on.
You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, and I will.
Write to hello@vladaether.com. You do not need to give a reason.
If you are in the EU or the UK and you think I have handled something badly, you can also complain to your national data protection authority.
This site is run by one person, not a company with a legal department.
I keep as little as I can, for as long as I need it, and no longer.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
